Portrait Commissions

Create a family heirloom by having a portrait done of yourself or someone you care about.  Portraits also make excellent gifts for special occasions like weddings, aniversaries, birthdays, retirement, or graduation. I can also paint posthumous portraits of loved ones who have departed.

The process begins with a discussion about the style of portrait you are looking for.  We would discuss your preferred size, pose, mood, setting, number of people etc.

If you would like a painting from an existing photograph we will examine the quality of the photograph to see if it is suitable as a reference.  If not, and you live in the Toronto area, we can arrange for a convenient time for a photo shoot.  

We would then sign a simple agreement and a non-refundabe 50% deposit would be made.  Now the painting begins!  When completed, you will inspect the painting in person or digitally and make requests for alterations if required.  Two such inspections are possible before the painting is finished.

At this time the painting is delivered and paid for.  The shipping cost will be added to your bill if applicable.

The cost of a portrait will depend on a variety of factors, including number of people, size, and complexity.   Please contact me for a quotation.
